The Nutcracker: 2015
What goes through your mind when you think of the ballet The Nutcracker? Sugar Plum Fairies? Clara fighting mice? Engagement rings? Proposing?
Yep. Engagement rings and proposing under the Christmas tree. That’s what goes through my mind these days. Strange, right? I’ve seen the ballet over and over since I was a child, and I’ve always pictured Clara, Mice, the Snow Queen, the Prince and those lovely pirouetting snowflakes. But then Taylor called Jen & Jules Photography and changed all of that.
Taylor had a vision: a giant tree, a lovely girl, a sparkly ring and glittering champagne. A perfect proposal at the Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker. He asked us if we could be there to capture it all in photos in order to surprise his bride Charis even more, and of course, we agreed.
We just love her reactions!
Oh, I should mention, she hates surprises. And crowds. And the attention of crowds. She pretty much tried to run away.
Then she realized that THIS IS HAPPENING!
How fun, right?
After the stress of proposing was over, we took some celebratory photos!
Look at that tree! And the ring! The champagne! And the gorgeous girl who SAID YES! Taylor saw his dream come true!
This ring is gorgeous, and the couple is glowing with love and pure excitement! It just doesn’t get better than this.
But then it DID get better because we stepped outside on one of the most beautiful nights in Houston.
Look at what we were able to capture with the outdoor lighting just outside of the theatre! The orbs, the trees, the lights, the beautiful couple!
What a night full of love and excitement. We were so honored to be there as Taylor was proposing happily-ever-after to his one-and-only.
Congratulations, Taylor and Charis!
